NRAO Community Day at the University of Maryland: December 15, 2011
NRAO is organizing a number of
to inform the scientific
community of the current status of its telescopes (ALMA, EVLA, VLBA,
GBT). There will be presentations on how to write proposals for these
telescopes and how to observe with them. Participants will have the
opportunity to try out observation preparation tools and the
post-processing system CASA while NRAO staff will be available for
Laboratory of Millimeter-wave Astronomy

Directions: We will meet in the Uco van Wijk Library
(room 1255 of the Computer Space Sciences building,
aka building 224)
for the talks,
breakout sessions are in a number of adjacent rooms on
the same floor.
- Parking: a block of parking permits will be available for the
Regents Drive (PG2) Garage (directly accross from the department).
You will need to get
a magic number to associate your parking spot number with
this paid account and feed this into a pay-station.
- Lodging: there are hotels nearby, google is your friend. Most
are on Baltimore Av (Rt1) and some nearby in Greenbelt are
the popular ones.
